Manashila Bhasma's Use of Minerals and Metals in Ayurveda
Manashila is a key ingredient in Ayurvedic arsenic treatments. Although it occurs naturally, it must be cleaned up before usage. Chemically, it is made of arsenic disulphide. There are two molecules each of arsenic and sulphur. Since ancient times, manashila has been utilised for a variety of therapeutic purposes. Always keep it at room temperature.
One of two techniques can be used to detoxify Manashila. To bind them together, a muslin cloth is used first. Then it is boiled using a turmeric decoction for around three hours in a dolayantra (a purification device). Second, Manshila is processed using ginger juice. This is repeated seven times daily for seven days. When the procedure is finished, purification is complete.
In Ayurveda, it acts as an anti-toxin. In addition, it is used to treat asthma, bronchitis, coughing, and skin disorders. They are orange-red in colour. It is a fine crystalline substance that goes by the name "The Red Arsenic."
