A 20–80 cm tall, erect, heavily branched, perennial plant, moti tukmararia is used to produce seeds. Particularly in milder climates, the plant is regularly grown as an annual. Sabja Seeds is a widely used herb having both culinary and therapeutic uses. The plant also possesses insect-repelling qualities and produces an essential oil.
