Bhumi Amla (Panchang) - Bhumi Aamla - Bhoomi Awla - Phyllanthus Niruri
Bhumi Amla is a tropical plant that is commonly grown around the coasts of India, China, and the islands of North and Central America. It is a significant herb in Ayurvedic medicine for treating liver problems as well as a variety of other health issues. The plant, which only grows to a height of 50 to 70 cm, has smooth, light-green bark and herbaceous branches with tiny, thin, elliptical leaves arranged alternately. The plant produces tiny, velvety fruits that look like capsules and contain several tiny seeds. The blossoms are light green with scarlet striations.
Bhumi Amla (Phyllanthus niruri) is also known as "Dukong anak" and "Bhumi Amalaki" in Sanskrit. Many therapeutic properties can be found throughout the plant.
Bhumi Amla assists in the management of liver disorders and repairs any liver damage due to its hepatoprotective, antioxidant, and antiviral qualities. It also helps to prevent ulcers by reducing gastric acid production and protecting the stomach lining from damage caused by too much gastric acid. The diuretic qualities of Bhumi Amla may also aid to reduce the risk of kidney stone formation. It achieves this by stimulating the evacuation of salts, most notably oxalate crystals, which lead to kidney stone formation.
This herb, a member of the Euphorbiaceae family, has a number of therapeutic benefits. On a global basis, it is widely used. Phyllanthus niruri plant extract is used to treat leprosy, asthma, anaemia, bronchitis, urinary problems, and other ailments.
